RP Etiquette

• OOC - this stands for out of character and is typically referencing the person behind the character, or you!

 

• IC - this stands for in character and refers to your character.

 

• NPC - non-player character. This typically refers to a character played by an admin temporarily for storyline or quests. These characters are not actively playing and are just to further roleplay.

 

• Consent - the act of agreeing to a certain roleplay. Sometimes, it is best to ask for consent in highly triggering roleplay scenarios - dungeon scenes, kidnapping, etc.

• Godmoding - the act of taking control of all scenarios and playing god. This can often involve metagaming and powergaming. This is prohibited and a strikable offense. 

 

• Powergaming - the act of making your character be the vey best with no limitations or working towards end goal with no real concrete roleplay or reason why. This is prohibited and a strikable offense. 

 

• Metagaming - the use of OOC knowledge IC. This includes voice chats, discords, looking information up, etc. It is prohibited to talk about in game situations to prevent metagaming or players from using the knowledge they know in their character storylines.

 

• Retconning - changing and adapting the story differently than what originally happened.

 

• Trolling - the act of starting quarrels or upsetting people by posting inflammatory or off-topic messages

 

• Character Bleed - the act of confusing character and self. This can often lead to feeling the same way out of character that your character does. 

  • Example: Your character hates someone because they did something wrong to them - you hate them because of what they did to your character.

 

• Immersion - becoming your character, making decisions based on interactions and environmental factors

 

• Mary Sue/Stu - a character created with little to no weakness and can do almost anything

 

• ERP - this stands for erotic roleplay. The act of using emotes, text chat, and character positions to act out erotic interactions. Keep it private please <3.

 

• Fail RP - the act of a character reacting/doing something that is not probable

 

• Fear RP - the act of fearing deadly consequence; afraid to die

 

• Stoneage  - The act of removing or reducing what a person has to nothing. Effectively making them start all over again.
